    Printing filling the entire page

I'm trying to scale a worksheet so that when it prints it fills the entire A4 page.

I have used under the print preview menu - page setup option the fit to 1 page with by 1 page tall option. This creates a blank space at the bottom of printed area.

Is there any way I can get Excel to stretch the vertically side of things so that it fills the entire page?

Any help will be very much appreciated.

    Many thanks
    John

Try going into Page Setup and closing the margins down to zero, bearing in mind that you can not print to the edges exactly as there will always be a slight margin.

Thanks for the reply. Just tried it and it does make the printing bigger, but there is still a huge cap below.

It is not as though the worksheet is all that small in terms of the number of rows as its 24 in total with each row about 21.75 points high.

To make matters worse my sheet was originally produced in Lotus 123 and the same layout fills the printed sheet when printed - so 123 can do it but can Excel?

Have you set your print area to 24 rows deep by "x" column wide, in other words just the data you see on the screen, or is the print area set to something bigger?

Yes I've set the print area to just be the data on the worksheet. Interesting problem isn't it?

    Hello there,

Is it possible you could provide a zipped sample of your spreadsheet and I’ll have a look to see if I can spot what the problem is?

To post a zipped example, go to “My Documents” or wherever you have your file stored, right-click and “Send to > Compressed file”, then attach this zipped file to your post
