    Populate Column?

    Hi all...

In the attached workbook I need to populate column A (Sheet 1) based on the contents of column A (Sheet 2) using column B on both sheets as the index - can anyone help with this?

    TIA

    Hi...

How is autofilter going to populate the column A on sheet 1? I need it populated with 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th to create a PivotTable, and I assume would therefore need a formula to copy down which refers to Sheet 2...

    Thanks

Ok... since I'm here anyway and the help is fantastic!

This is the same worksheet as before attached, but at an earlier stage. See the highlighted column for the problem... I need to ensure that all the cells in this column are in the same format as H1 - if you scroll down you will see that some are missing the 'SAT' prefix, some are missing the hyphen, etc. The format is SAT-(Year)(Week Number).

Is there any formula I could use in a helper column to rectify this, as I did it manually, but will have to do this every week!

    Many Thanks

providing you always have at least a six digit number, I'd suggest a helper column with following formula :
    HTML Code:
This will avoid checking if you have , or don't have "sat" or "-"
