    hyperlinks & command buttons

    Two questions:

    1. When you make an internal hyperlink in excel, is there a way to modify the properties of the hyperlink? I would like to get rid of the blue underline and keep the text black simply for aesthetic reasons, but still have it link to an internal reference.

    2. In case the answer to the above question is no, I'll probably use a command button with a hyperlink. However, the text area seems a bit restrictive. I'm trying to work with a button in a cell whose height is 12.75, and I can't get the text (size 8 Arial) to fully show up - it's cut off on the bottom. Can you either adjust the margins of the button or set a command button behind the text of a cell?

    Hi,
You should be able to select the cell with the hyperlink and the goto format cells, and do the normal formatting as usual

    Hi,

As well as Dave's suggestion, you can globally change your hyperlinks by going to Format > Style and pick Hyperlink from the drop-down menu. This will be applied to all hyperlinks in the document.

Yes, thats great, thank you very much for all your help.

If you alter the hyperlink settings, are those computer specific? or document specific?

In other words, if I take my file to a different computer, will those settings reset and I'll see the blue underline again?

    Again, thanks for your help!

    Hi,

    They're document specific.

    hyperlinks & command buttons

I think this will work for you.....

Select one of the hyperlink cells (with arrow keys...not the mouse)

    From the Excel Main Menu:
    <format><style>.......it probably says: hyperlink
    Change it to: Normal

    or......
<format><cells>.....Set the format to anything you want

    OR....for a more permanent fix:
    <format><style>
    Select: Hyperlink
    Click the [Modify] button
Set the font and underlines to whatever you want.
(Note: That redefines the way hyperlinks will display)

Is there something in there that appeals to you?
