Can't import external data from another Excel file

Hi all,

I am trying to import data from another excel file that is located in the same folder.

I am doing so by going to Data > Import External Data > New Database Query, then i am choosing the "Excel File*" as the Database type and press ok.

After choosing the XLS file that i need, i get the following message "This Data source contains no visible tables".

In the past i already used this way of importing data, and i cant see where i am weoring becasue I didnt do anything different.

can someone asssit by telling me what is the soure of the problem, and what can i do to solve it?

Hi,

you could try an Excel file that has a visible table. What 'Named Range' are you trying to import, and how is this described in the .xls you are trying to import from?
