Creating Formula

I need to calculate a figure using the below expression and not sure how to type formula.

Less than 100 they get 50 (only), anthing over 100 I need to x by 50%.

The number I need to figure this out is already in my spreadsheet. Please help me on this if you can.

=max(a1,100) * 50%
