I am trying to paste a large amount of text (HTML) into a single cell
but when I do this a lot of it goes into the cells below. In other
words, it breaks it up and puts different parts of the text into
different cells.
How can I get all of it to stay in the same cell?

Paste it in the formula bar after you click the cell you want to put it in.
Where there is a will there are many ways.

Now I want to copy this same cell of text and paste it into about 3000 cells in the same column. What is a fast way of doing this?

did you try copying that cell, selecting all of the 3000 cells and pasting.
Thought I had tried that but I guess not because that worked.
