Question Row Colour Depending On Drop Down Result

    Hi All,

Does anyone know if there is any way to have the colour of a row depending on a result?

For example if i had three columns:

    Product, Description and Status

Could i have it so that if the status= active the row would be green and if status=inactive the row would be red?

As i say, i don't even know if this is possible.

    Thanks
    Chris

    Hi,

You need to use Conditional Formatting. Go to Format>Conditional Formatting - then choose 'Formula is' and, presuming the Status is in column C and the data starts at C2:

    =$C2="Active"

Then choose the green from the formatting.

Add another conditional format, this time the formula being

    =$C2="Inactive"

Then choose the red from formatting.

Then just format paint across the worksheet.

That is the max unless you want to start writing macros using VBA.
