    new instance Excel application

currently when user click the application close (not the workbook close button) button of an Excel file, all openned Excel file will be closed too.

is there a way to set the Excel application such that each time when user double click to open an Excel file, a new instance of an Excel application will be openned just for that Excel file only?

or maybe some macros to set so that this particular Excel file will not share the same Excel application with other Excel files?

    Thank you.

    Hi,
try Tools, Options, General, and tick Ignore Other Applications, but remember this does create other problems especially in the area of Copy-Paste between the two Excel workbooks.

Hi Bryan, thank you for your suggestion. However, i have tried that before, with that setting, i will not be able to open any Excel file by just simply double click on the file
