    Format currency - euro

I have formatted some cells as currency type Euro but when I complete his formatting exercise the numbers don't show the Euro symbol. They show a small vertical bar, slightly subscript, before or after the figure depending on the type of euro I select.

Anyone seen this before and know how to get around it?

    Thanks

    Paul.

Does the font you're using have the Euro symbol? Not all fonts have all symbols, and I know the Euro symbol is an add-in for some.

You could also try this, press AltGr+4 this puts the Euro symbol in the formula bar, then also enter the value. This will format the cell automatically to Euro format, right click > Format Cells increase decimal places. Then use the Paintbrush to copy the format to the other cells.

If for example the font is Arial 10 and the zoom is set at 70%, a vertical line appears but when the zoom is increased to say 100% the Euro symbol appears properly.

If you increase the size of the Arial font to 12, the Euro symbol will show @ 70%
