Can some one provide info as to how to make a spreadsheet much more interactive and not even look like a spreadsheet?

Also how would i link a excel spredsheet so that when someone presses a button a MS Word document opens up with figures from the excel spreadsheet?

could someone attach some examples? of decorative good spreadsheets etc
