    How to open a worksheet in an Excel Spreadsheet from a hyperlink in Internet Explorer

    What format does the link need to be to open a specific worksheet in an excel spreadsheet?

    i.e. something like this does not work from IE:

    file:///\\SHARE NAME\spreadsheet.xls#'Worksheet One'!A1

    Please help!

    Thanks in advance,
    Harry

    As far as I know, all of the slashes need to be forward slashes, like this:

    //SHARE NAME/spreadsheet.xls#'Worksheet One'!A1

    If you attach a sample of your workbook it will be easier to find a solution. Remember to remove/replace sensitive data before uploading the file. Look here if you need help with attachments:

    Didn't work :(

    Thanks for the reply. The forward slashes didn't have any result

    The file seems to always opens at the point where last saved and does not go to the specified worksheet in the spreadsheet referenced after the hash part of the url.

    Any further help?

    Sorry - I misread your original post. I thought you were having difficulty opening the file. I don't know how to open at a specific worksheet but will be interested to see how it's done when someone else gives you the answer.

    Hi,

    there is a fix for some problems in opening at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/840386 however, this does not mention the problem specified here nor does it suggest that the #Sheet open is possible.
