Here's something I can't quite figure out. I manipulate some large spreadsheets and have therefore turned off the auto-calc feature, or at least I thought. The problem is, every time I open one of these workbooks excel auto-calcs anyway, taking as long as 10 minutes at times.

Anyone have any tips to resolve this? I'm working in Office 2003 on XP SP2.
