Lost file due to Save As

A simple problem, but too hard for me.

I was looking at one file (Spain budget) and wanted to open another (EMEA budget). However, instead of Open, I selected Save As. (I was busy on the phone, ok?) As a result, I've lost EMEA budget. How can I retrieve it?

    Thanks,

a couple of different ways. open a new excel file, go up to file, and click the arrows down to show all of the options. At the bottom it should show the recent files youve looked at.
Another place to look is on your start bar, my recent documents folder.

If its not there, then goto start, search (the magnifying glass), all files and folders, and put in either the file name you know it is, or if you want to take a long time put in .xls in the first box. Hopefully it will show up

    hi,

As far as I know if you have saved over the top of it you are unlikely to get it back, unless:
    1) your work has frequent backup tapes that can be restored, or
    2) you take backups regularly (& save them with a different name/location), or
    3) you have the "autorecover" option selected under Tools - Options - Save, in which case you may be able to find it by looking in the "autorecover save location" listed on this tab.

Sorry it's not that promising - Good luck!
