    Keeping formula based cell blank

Cell B1 has formula, say =(5*A1)+100.

Now, if A1 is blank, B1 contains value 100, as a blank is by default zero for numerical formulas. What I want is for B1 to remain blank until I actually enter a value for A1.

    Any ideas??

    Hi,

    =if(a1="","",(5*A1)+100)
    Rule 1: Never merge cells
    Rule 2: See rule 1
