How to activate/de-activate a cell based on the selection of a check box

    Hi Forum,

    Excel version : Excel 2003

I am new bee to excel and need some assistance from the forum with some of my doubts.

My question is : How to activate/ De-activate a cell based on the check box selection.

I will elborate my question as follows :

I am having two work sheets. On the first work sheet, I am having two check boxes, Name and Age and on the second worksheet I am having two cells Name and Age.

If the user selects the Name check box on the first sheet, only the name field needs to be in the active mode and the age field need to be in diasble mode on the second sheet. The same should apply if the user selects the Age check box.

Could some body assist me by explaining the steps to proceed with this scenario.

    Eagerly Awaiting reply
    KK

    Which Checkbox are you using
The Form Checkbox or the Control Toolbox Checkbox

It will bve a lot easier if you using the Toolbox Checkbox's

As you are using Checkboxes what happens if both are Checked or neither of them.

If you require only one of them to be able to be selected at a time then I sugesst you using Control Toolbox Option buttons

Hi, Krishna. The problem was due to the check boxes and unprotect ranges being on different sheets. I have corrected the issue.
