Copy worksheet to an existing workbook not working

I have a user who is trying to use <EDIT><MOVE OR COPY SHEET> to copy a sheet to an existing workbook. She has them in the same directory and has them both open, but when she tries to copy a sheet from either of them to the other, the only workbook listed in the "TO BOOK" drop down menu is the one she is in. NO other workbooks show up as an option for her to copy to. If you have any suggestions on why this would happen, please let me know. Thanks!

    Hi,

in Tools, Options, General, untick 'Ignore Other Applications' and re-open the books.

    Question

Thank you for your reply, but <Ignore other Applications> was not checked in either workbook. Do you have any other suggestions?

    Thanks again!

Do your workbooks open within the same Excel.exe as per SecDeposit.xls and Locked.xls, or in separate Excel.exe as per Transfer.xls?

It is shown in the attachment to my previous post, two books are together, and one book is separate.

Are your books together or separate?

That is achieved by setting the tick in 'Ignore Other Applications'.

Can you check again the setting, Tools, Options, General, and untick 'Ignore Other Applcations', then close and re-open Excel and check the setting has remained.

You need the 'Ignore' to be unticked.

    Hi,

as per your previous answer, but not the result that Excel should be giving you.

First question, what version of Excel are you using, I guess we naturally assume that people are using Windows 2003 version unless the user states 2007, but the occasional '97 version does arise.

You can try, with Excel closed, to reset Excel, firstly locate and delete any .xlb file (a file search should find this, Excel will re-generate a clean version when you next start Excel)

    Close Excel and
Windows 'Start' Button, select 'Run', and type
    excel /unregserver
    then
Windows 'Start' Button, select 'Run', and type
    excel /regserver

Search for a file Personal.xls and rename (to hide) it.

Let me know how you go

well, before I could try it, the users said that it started working. Thanks for all of your help. I really wanted to know how to fix the issue, but I don't want to cause her any more issues now that it is working again.

    Thanks a bunch!
