Grouping and Protecting

Hi - i want my users to be able to use the grouping fuctionality whilst locking down the cells. this does not seem possible as protecting the sheet locks out the grouping functions? any ideas

You are having trouble with Protect then group. Have you tried group before protect?

i had grouped my columns together already and then protected it. this disabled the ability to expand and colapse the group.
