Pivot Table Subtotals

I currently have a pivot table that summarizes the time reporting for our organization. In the row field I have a list of the resources. That works fine. In the column section I have two fields; month and hourtype. The hourtype field can have three different values; Project OT, Admin OT and Admin Reg. So the end result looks like the following.

Jan Feb
Project OT Admin OT Admin Reg Project OT Admin OT Admin Reg
ResName1
ResName2
ResName3

The problem that I'm having is that when I add the subtotal it sums up the entire row and does not break it out by the hourtype. Is there a work-around for this? I was thinking of manually adding the three columns and calculating across but there's got to be an easier way.
