    Linking sections of different workbooks

how do you link sections of one work sheet to a different workbook without having to change the cell reference in every single cell... there has to be an easier way.

in one workbook (A) sheet (1) there are five columns that need to be linked to workbook (B) sheet (1). if i do an = cell reference then try to drag the formula down to display the whole column data it COPY"s the cell and i have found myself changing each individual cell reference... thank you in advance for all you help

    Hi,

Copy a cell from the source sheet to the destination sheet
In the copied cell on the desination sheet, remove the dollar signs

    eg, =[Book1]Sheet1!$A$1 becomes =[Book1]Sheet1!A1

You can now copy and paste, or even drag-fill relative in your destination sheet.
    Rule 1: Never merge cells
    Rule 2: See rule 1
