Template for Printing Excel to Index Cards

I have Excel worksheets containing headers for the first row and data entries for each row. I'd like to know if there is any Excel template that will allow me to print each entry to index cards instead of importing the worksheets to Word and using mail merge.

    Hi,

If you are familiar with VB code you could Record a new macro whilst copying (to a second layout worksheet) and printing a couple of rows, and then edit this to become a loop running from row 2 to number of rows used, but you will probably find the Mail Merge, described at http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/mailmerg.htm or http://www.gmayor.com/mail_merge_lab...th_word_xp.htm is the easier way to go.

Thanks for the help! I guess mail merge is the only way for now.

I could not find a template for 3" x 5" cards, so I did the following in Word:

    File | New

    then

General Templates | Mail Merge | Plain Merge Letter

then Page Setup to modify the paper size to 3 by 5 inches.

Then I activated the Mail Merge toolbar, clicked on data source, and opened the Excel file. From there, I inserted each field into the page, then merged to another document to see the results.

The bad news is that if I add entries to the Excel file, I'll have to re-merge and print out the last few entries in Word before re-sorting the Excel file.
