    Populating cells from another sheet

I want to take data out of FliteData (columnar data that includes time flown and date by aircraft) and fill the cells in DataFiller. First, however, I need to somehow match serial number and date, so that the data gets put in the correct cells.

Serial numbers may not exist in FliteData yet (if they have not flown).

Thanks for any help you can give!

you have not told us what the columns are in filterdata specifically C,D,E
Also what does HR and LDG relate to. Also is there a reason you have entered the data with a "-" in the middle on one sheet and not the other. And similarly you have put a date on one sheet and on the other entered it as a number. These can be matched but it makes the task more painful than if they were the same

The answer will be a sumproduct, but can you provide more information

    Regards

Sorry about that, I have added headers to the Flite Data file.

LDG are landings, HRS are hours.

    The columns now have headers.

As for the differences in data, FliteData comes from an SDI dump of an old database, and is in text format. I cannot change much on the way the data is dumped; I could format the date to match the format in the DataFiller spreadsheet, I guess.

The - in the DataFiller sheet is there because someone (higher-ups) entered it there. I may be able to get rid of it, but for now, let's assume I am stuck with it.

Right now, we manually copy the data from the .txt file to the spreadsheet; I am trying to automate the process. Some days, there is no data, other days there are many flights to enter. the data represent aircraft that fly diff amounts on diff days, with any number of landings.
