    Open file in Excel X

In my office we use Excel as a tracker which everyone uses to input data on a daily basis. Everyone uses PC except me! I haven't encountered a problem until today and I can not open the latest updated version of our Excel doc on my Mac. I have tested the doc on PC's in the office and it will open without difficulty. The last person who updated it uses Excel 2003 and I have Excel X 1985-2001. Does he need to save in a different format?

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

I have no experience with Mac versions of Excel

On windows earlier versions of Excel can not open later versions unless they are saved in the format that is suitable to the earlier version

Try saving the file by using SaveAs > Scroll down through the Save as type listing and you will see an entry for
    Microsoft Excel 97 - Excell 2003 & 5.0/97 Workbook (*.xls)
