    Multiple Criteria INDEX MATCH MAX

    Hi,

I'm trying to interrogate a spreadsheet that has about 30000 rows of data, in four categories.

I've managed to create an array formula that establishes a MAX value for one data category when two other categories meet given conditions eg, Maximum price when size is large and colour is red.

What I'd like to do now is read across to the final category to obtain a value when this MAX value occurs. I've tried various index and match combinations, but to no avail.

    Tia,

    Dave

Please post a small .zip sample of your spreadsheet, detailing what you would liek to do.

    Hi Bas,

Thanks for taking a look at this for me - as you can see, I've defined named ranges, and am doing a MAXIF type operation to give a maximum when two conditions are set. What I now want to do is read across and return the text in the Name column for that condition.

    Thanks again,

    Dave
