Apologies if this question is simple - but it is 'doing my head in'

I took some data from a spreadsheet (as .csv) an did some work on it in Access. I now bring a version back to the spreadsheet and want to match it back (lookup) on the original data.
The data that has come back has (sometimes) an extra 2 blank characters on the end which makes lookup fail. I try TRIM and then LOOKUP or EXACT but this doesn't work

The only way I have found to get the two to match is to manually edit the field that comes from Access. THis would be Ok except in the real file I have thousands of records.
