    variables in formula

I need to do a lookup depending on three variables.

I need to get a grade depending on the persons Age, Gender and Time. I need the results to be put in the column F. The grade scale is in columns J and K.

I have tried plenty but I just can not get this one. Any help would be appreciated.

Try this revised sheet. I created a helper table just to the right of your time/grade/age data, and then used a double vlookup formula to get your information.

This worked for me. Thanks a lot!! The helper table was exactly what I needed.

    Glad I could help..

One thing to note, though.. I would change the 'A+' time values for each Gender/Age group to 0. Right now you have it at .01 less than the 'A' value, and with the formula I gave you you will get an #N/A! error if someone runs a time that is less than the value you show next to 'A+'.

If you enter a 0 in that cell, then ANY time between 0 and up to the 'A' time will register as an 'A+'.
