Pivot Tables - Deleted Items In Drop Down

I have a pivot table that is showing items in the drop downs that have been deleted from the original information. (i.e. Item # had 11363, but it was removed from the list as it changes from time to time).

I have refreshed the data on the pivot table with no luck.

I have not remade the pivot table, but this is not something I want to do, as I have a macro tied to the pivot table that I would have to rewrite.

Does anyone know how to remove items that are no longer in the source data from the pivot table?

    Thanks,
    John

    Thanks! Worked like a charm..

I guess if Step 1 doesn't work alone and Step 2 doesn't work alone... Maybe trying both at the same time will.

    Hi,
I have lots of Pivot tables for which the data in the underlying sheet is updated daily, wiping out the old data.
Every one of those tables remembers data from even 2 years ago.
I tried pulling fields out of the pivots, refreshing, then pulling them back in and it still doesn't work.
I probably have 100+ pivots like that which I have set up for various users to obtain the summarized data they need to order materials, book production, generate reports ..etc.

Same problem on each and every one. I think Microsoft really missed the programming on this issue.

I'm running Excel 2002 (Office 2002) on XP Pro, with all the latest patches.

Any further ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks!
