verifying data in excel

am new to this forum, and first of all i wana say hi to everyone.

i have menu sheet where i enter the data and i have a macro and command button which stores this data onto another sheet. my question is that, how can i verify the duplicate data is entered. basically the same data is already entered then i want message box appearing.

please help me, thank you.

its doesnt work for me, it doesnt pop up message box or displays a message. please help me

thank you, it worked but i want know is there a way searching spreadsheet for e.g. students via a macro, like vb6 u make program you can search something and if it matches then it display's its details.
