    No Color in Dialog Boxes

    Dear List,

Somehow I lost color in my dialog box. Say control+P for example. The background is white and printing is black and the commands are gray shadowed. I uninstall excel and reinstalled it but the problem is still there.

    Hi bretsharon

The problem is almost certainly nothing to do with Excel.

Right click on your desktop and select Properties. Now select Appearance.

The easiest thing to do is select a standard theme - eg "Windows Standard". (Alternatively you could hunt the wrong value, but it really is more of a pain than it's worth.)

You should find that the settings will have corrected themselves.

    Good luck

Thank you Martin, but no change. I had this already on classic. I did however change the themes and settings, but there was no change. When I did change the appearance/themes the dialog box did pick up the change on the banner at the top of the dialog box. The rest below the banner, however, had not changed.

Oh well - it was worth a try. Without the pc in front of me I'm out of ideas. I still find it difficult to believe that it is an Excel problem. Have you thought of posting on a general Windows site?

    Hi,

    try Start, Control Panel, Display,

look in Appearance etc, and see what you are setup for.

If you are using XP then XP style is the default.
