    using lists & searches

    Ok, I'll try to explain. I have a list of user names, pc makes, pc models

    eg.

    Peter Dell Lattitude D620
    Paul Compaq Evo N610
    Patrick Dell Optiplex GX620
    Paula Dell Optiplex GX620
    Pauline Compaq Evo D310

    I have setup list boxes for each category - (user, make & model).
    Is there any way that if I select Dell, I will get a list of all records with Dell regardless of who or what model, similarly if I select Optiplex GX620, I will only get records with with optiplex gx620 as models.

    Thanks.

    Place your cursor in the data area, then go to Data > Filter > Autofilter. You can then filter by any column or number of columns

    Had thought on that

    Hi, yes I had thought of that as an option, but I was trying to be clever and use a form that allowed the user to enter what they wanted

    hey there,

    in that case, use some coding for users to enter value, and use autofilter to look for the value. Here is some sample:

    so = textbox1.text
    equals: "=" &so
    does not equal: "<>" &so
    Just some example..
