Hey all-

I'm doing a project for my boss and want to know if this would even be possible to do. The 1st colum has model numbers of products, the second column in blank (you'll see why in a second), and the 3rd column has product descriptions. We are selling products to other companies, and we cannot show them the original model number (that is in the 1st column). What we need to do is make up our "own" model number for the proucts, but one that has a system.

For example

T100A = real model number

but we need to make a fake one, with a system such as T=A , 1=9, 0= 2, A= G ...so in this case the "new" model # would be A922G.
(going by the orignal model # and the code i just did)

Is there anyway to do this in excel automatically? I'm so confused! Thanks so much!
