    booking system.

    hi all,

i need to do a simple booking system using excel.

For a 4 week period there are 16 rooms availiable. One room can be hired out for a week, and when it was booked no one else can book it.

So how would i do this? So that when the room is booked, the booking details are archived on a seperate sheet, and some way to stop double booking?

    Many thanks.

Have 4 Sheets, one for each week.
On each sheet your columns will be the room number and the rows will be the dates.
    Good luck.
    Best regards,

    Ray

    thanks..but..

we want like a table, room numbers going down the side, and week number along the top.

a VB input form..will ask for:
    week required:
    room number:
    name:
    address:

when these are filled in it must be stored somewhere.

and if another person tries the same combination (i.e. week 1, room 4) and this has already been chose it wont let you book it.

    Thanks

The cell could have a link to another Sheet that would record each room transactions.
I would strongly recommend using a database such as Access!

i know its stupid but we have to use excel

Say for example i had a chart like this:

    room: 1 2 3 4 5 -->
    week 1
    2
    3
    4

and the user puts an "X" in the appropariate place, i.e. they want car 5 week 4, they would put an X in that cell...how could i get it to put this info automatically into a form, and then they just have to put name and address in?
    thanks
