adjusting the row height for source data

i have a chart and reguarly change the data. Problem is getting the chart to only pull the source data from the data range.

Ive tried typing a formula into the source range inc the counta function but it doesnt like functions and ive tried defining a range and using the defined name but this also doesnt work.

There must be a way some how to overcome this?

    Some On-Line Help

I have struggled with many of the issues you mention.

It takes a lot of practice using the MVP tips, I am not proficient, but have been successful with the tips from these sites:

    http://www.contextures.com/charts.html
    http://www.contextures.com/xlNames01.html#Dynamic
    http://www.contextures.com/JPChartIndex.htm

    Just key in on Dynamic...
    Thanks!
