    Conditional Lookup Problem

    Hi All,

    I have a spreadsheet with 5 Columns:
    A: Customer
    B: Contract
    C: Sales
    D: Type
    E: Count

In this sheet, Sales (Col C) and Type (Col D) are mapped to Contract (Col B). The issue is that Sales and Type are pulled from different databases and thus do not match up exactly with Contract. For example, there's a case where the same Contract has two Types and thus double counts Sales. For instances where this occurs, I would like to allocate the Sales based on the Count (Col E).

I'm attached a screen shot of a sample spreadsheet. I can also email the sample spreadsheet to anyone if that would help.

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Hi,

I am not clear as to where the 'count' is supposedly happening, nor why you are not using column E.

Does the 2,000 at rows 11 & 12 also double count?

Does the 5,000 at rows 19, 20 & 21 double or triple count?
if it's 'double' then which double and why.

What is the formula that does the 'count'? is that simple a Sum of column E?

Are doubles always consecutive figures? (ie, is the sheet always correctly sorted?)

    Any other clues?
