Custom format number and date together

Hello

I'm trying to create a list so there is a pull-down for a field in a sheet. I want the format to be ####-yy so for example 0001-yy. But want to be able to increment this myself to 9999-07 so then it will have those numbers in the pull-down. I've tried everything for the custom format and each time I go to autoincrement is increments the year...

Any suggestions?

Try this formula somewhere in row 1 copied down

=TEXT(ROW(),"0000""-07""")

you can convert to values after, if you wish, by using copy and then edit > paste special > values
