Enabling Edit>Paste when a textbox on a protected form has the focus.

I have a protected spreadsheet that contains textboxes.

Data that is selected and "copied" from another document needs to be pasted into the textbox; however "Paste" is disabled under the Edit menu.

Ctl+V works, but I am dealing with a number of people for which that option is politically a non-starter.

Is there anyway I can enable the Edit>Paste on the menu?

    Thanks,
    Al

Exclamation More Info..... I'm running out of time

Additionally, I am not even able to select any of the items displayed for pasting when I select "Office ClipBoard" from the Edit menu.

    Thanks,
    Al

Problem Explained - But Not Solved ...:)

After much searching I found that there is a problem with Office 2003 version.

ActiveX controls don't always act as they are supposed to.

This link is to the Microsoft Article.

The link you found has nothing to do with what you are describing. The link is referring to non-standard ActiveX controls.

The problem you are seeing is that a text box embedded on a worksheet is like a "drawing object".

I would suggest giving the users a button they can click which will take text from the clipboard and paste it to the text box.

    Thanks...

I guess I expected the textbox in Excel 2003 to act the same as an Access Textbox where the problem doesn't exist.

They'll have to live with Ctl+V... there are multiple textboxes on the spreadsheet which prints out as a header to a report and there is no room for multiple buttons....

    Your help was much appreciated.
