Opening Excel files from Explorer

Hi

I'm having a mysterious problem. When I'm trying to open excel files from my windows explorer, it only opens Excel but not the file. I can open files from within excel as usual.

I've seen that kind of thing when the file was last saved as "hidden." Try opening the file, and then check in the "window" menu and see if the "unhide" command is available, then see if the file you just opened appears in that list.
