Easy One...

Thanks to people here I have been able to solve most of my problem.....another issue is comming up.

columns: p/n,description1,description2,qty,find

p/n's show up multiple times (so that means descriptions do as well).....every p/n has a qty 1 at this point...

I have created a pivot table that finds the p/n's and sums the qty's....I now need the descriptions that correspond to the "compressed" p/n's....

the data took up 72 rows....in pivot form it was condensed to 19....all of the qty's were perfect...I now just need the corresponding descriptions for p/n's to show up next the p/n's....what can I do????

I tried every placement possible on the pivot table (from what I can tell) and it's not responding the way i would like....help!!

You should include both description1 and 2 underneath "p/n" in the "ROW" section of the pivot table wizard, then click Finish.

This will, however, give you a lot of different subtotals (1 for each field). To remove a subtotal, just right-click on the specific pivot table field, select 'Field...', and change 'Automatic' to 'None' in the 'Subtotals' section.

yes the sub-totals WAS my problem...Thank you....
