    Excel Acting Weird!

I don't even know how to explain this. I open excel and click on a cell and am stuck at that cell. I can go up, down, right, left, but all based on the original cell I started with. I cannot access my toolbar and if I pull the cursor off the page, the field continues to get larger at an accelerated speed. Help! How do I get out of this? I have closed Excel and that did not work, I also rebooted.
Thanks for what ever help anyone can give!

Your explanation is a little confusing, but perhaps your Scroll Lock is enabled on the keyboard?

You may be right, I never heard of a scroll lock and cannot seem to find one on my keyboard. I found a way to show if scroll lock is on and it is, but I do not know how to get it off! I really appreciate the help,

I got it off! I have a mIcrosoft wireless keyboard and NO scroll key. Hooked up wired keyboard with Scroll lock key and turned it off. What a bizzare thing!
How did I get my scroll locked on if I have no scroll lock key?

You might have a scroll lock that is triggered by a key combination. For example, on the keyboard I am using at the moment, I have to hit a Fn key and then the NumLk key.

Thanks for the hint, I will check it out. I cannot believe I lost most of a day's work because of that!
