    Matching and highlighting Common Data

How can I get common data in column A and Column B to become highlighted through a formula or a macro when the same data appears somewhere in each column? The data can be in different rows, I just want to highlight the same data in each column. I have an example of what I need below. Can someone help me on this one?

    10 5
    20 9
    30 20
    40 22
    50 40

    Thanks, Dj1cincy

    Hi,

    Try conditional formatting.

Goto Format > Conditinal Formatting . Change to forumla and enter

    =IF(COUNTIF($A$1:$B$5,A1)>1,TRUE,FALSE)

Change Range and starting cell as required.

Here a link on highlighting duplicates and conditinal formatting
