Is there a function in excel that provides the number of distinct periods (i.e. days, weeks, months or years) between two dates?

Lets say you have 2 dates in cells A1 and A2:

if you put the formula =A1-A2 and format this cell as a number, this will give you the number of days between the dates.


for month you can use: =MONTH(A11)
for weeks you can use: =WEEKNUM(A1)
