broken pivot tables (and other data links)

    Dear All,

We have a set of worksheets that all drag data into pivot tables from an access database.

We have moved the XL sheets and the database due to corporate file restructuring.

How do I tell the pivot tables that the database they want to get their data from has moved?

    any ideas would be appreciated.

You might be interested in the PivotPlay add-in at Debra Dalgleish's website. With that add-in you can change the location of the source of external data:

    I hope that helps.

    a less sophisticated way is..

double click on any DATA value in the PT and create a worksheet with the rows/columns making up that data value.
re-define the PT's source data as coming from the new worksheet instead of the Access DB connection.

Then go through the same process to tell the PT that the data is no longer in that worksheet but is in the new Access db/table.

    regards..
