Talking populating a list from another sheet

I was curious if anyone could help me, I have a list that has information on it that I want to filter onto a seperate list. I have my original list which has all of my accounts on it with dates that they were opened and dates that they were closed, I also have a column for accounts that are still pending. I was wanting to place in a new list so I can have a snapshot based on a given year a list of only my opening and closing accounts for that year. Can I populate a list based on this information? Or is there a formula that will get me the same result? I can't have it point to specific cells, because the accounts get sorted, so it needs to locate the info and then put it in the list.

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me!

    Unhappy never done this before

what am I supposed to do here, I want to copy from one sheet and have the list populate based on criteria in two different cells, and based on just the year that the account was opened and right now the cells read month and year. Is there a good way to write a formula for the criteria that can help out? I am also not sure what to select for the boxes that are in the advance filter wizard.

    thank you
