    Help Please !!!

    Hi All,

    I have an excel workbook that needs to be updated daily (new figures replace old ones at the moment), Want I want to be able to do I after filling in the cells, through that workbook be able to create a new identicle excel file for that day, with the name of the file being the date for that day, so basically at the end of every day a new file is created in a sought of archive. I understand I can just "Save As" every day, but the person that I am doing this for is .... well not the most competent of people...... Please Is There Anyone who can help me.... a freind told me to use macros.... though I have never used those before Either

    PLEASE, HELP ME!!!!!!!

    I think save as is the best option, you should train them about save as with current date as name.

    Hi,

    Well trained staff are a good idea, backup files are another option.

    In the ThisWorkBook code modulle, put something like
    Please Login or Register  to view this content.
    which will require a Backup folder within the folder in which the file is located.

    Each Close should save the file dated today as yyyymmdd

    test and check this, and keep a weekly check that all is well.
