    Alt-D

I have an addin installed which has "D" underlined on the menu. Unfortunatly "data" also has "D" underlined. Normally to open the data menu I hit Alt-D but it seems excel is getting confused and opens neither menu as both have D as the shortcut.

Is there anyway to tell excel to always refer to the DATA menu?

I don't know the specifics of your addin, but, if the add in will allow you to modify the offending menu item in the following way, you can change which shortcut letter refers to that menu.

View -> toolbars -> Customize -> Right click on the menu item -> In the Name field will be the name of the menu with an ampersand (&) in front of the underlined shortcut letter. You can put the ampersand elsewhere in the name to change the shortcut letter. As long as the add-in leaves your modification in place, you can specify that alt-D refers to the Data menu. Alternatively, you could change the Data menu so it is referred to by a different shortcut.
