Do you get an error messages ?? - No, sir

Is it all sheets or just the one ?? - Just one

How long do you get the hour glass for ?? - I let it sit for 10 minutes before I hit Ctrl-Alt-Del.

What is your last used cell ref (Ctrl + End) - When I hit (Ctrl + End) it went to IV140.

    Thank you for your help.

while that might be the issue if you have 256 columns of data and try to insert a column you get an error message.

Are there a number of intensive formulas (i.e. sumproducts, countifs, lookups, etc) on your sheet? if they do not need to be active you could "lock" them in place by selecting your sheet, copying, and pasting as values

and as suggested by VBA noob it might be wise to select all the columns to the right of your data and delete them. Do that with the last row and down as well. this way there's no calculations being done in cells that don't need to be.
