This is ridiculous. I have set the format to dd/mm/yy and when I enter a date, say 10/11/06, it changes to 06/11/10.

No matter what format I choose it always swaps the year and day. Is there any way to stop this?

Secondly if I enter 10/11 I would like excel to change it to the 10th of the eleventh month (e.g. 10th November) - intuitive hey! Instead it changes it the the 11th October. Is there any way to get around this?

If not then is there any way to edit the general number format to stop it automatically changing 10/11 to another format? I would prefer not to have to edit the format of each cell just because of Microsoft's faux pas.

Thank you Joe
