    Images in Excel

    Hi everyone,

I know this is Excel and not some fancy-pantsy picture editing thing... but I was wondering if there are ways to work with images in Excel beyond the basics? For example, if I brought a .jpg of a big flower into my spreadsheet, and I wanted to cut out the middle so that I could use the flower as sort of a frame to go around some information on my spreadsheet, is there a way I could do that? Or if I had a .jpg of some fancy ivy vines, and wanted to bring that into my spreadsheet... right now, when I bring it in, the vines come in on a big slab of white and it covers up all of my cells. I would like to be able to move the vines around separate from the white background so that I can position them around my data without covering it all up. Is there a lot more that I can do in Excel, or is this part of it pretty limited?

    Thank you for your time!

    Unhappy No But Yes But

I'm afraid that I would say NO, (but there may be someone out there who knows different).

You can get the effects you are after, with quite a lot of fiddling.
You would have to process the images first using a graphics package and set a transparent colour for the background. The Excel Cells could then appear through the transparent parts of the picture.

    Mark.

Thank you both for the information... I will fiddle with the possibilities and see if something will work for me. I appreciate your help!
