    Cool change case of cells

Is there a way to format cells so that if I type "il" it will appear as "IL?" I have it set so phone #'s are auto formated so that "1234567890" appears as "123-456-7890" I would like to do the same only with Upper Case letters.

I am doing data entry from survey post cards to a spread sheet. The reference and representative #'s are a string of numbers and capitalized letters, the state abbreviation is all caps. The other cells are respondent's name and answers to several questions and these cells cannot be in all caps. I cannot use the caps lock key continuously (the cells mentioned previously that do use caps lock key are dispursed throughout the other cells).

This seems like a simple request but I cannot find a way to do it; can you?
