    percentage from a division to add in another cell

    Hi,

    I'm trying without sucess , to add in one cell the result from a division in percentage.

    In P5 I have this formula "=F6*$M$5+F6+IF(O6,O5/O6,0)

    my objective is:

    the result in percentage from O5/O6 should be added on P5.
    the result in percentage is 3.57%

    ie O5=700
    O6=725
    F6=322
    M5=0.6%
    the result in P5 should be 335, and I got 325, because the formula assume as a division result 1.

    How can I solve this.

    many thanks in advance

    How do you get 3.57%? I don't see where that comes from, given your figures

    I got the 3.57% dividing 700 by 725 (725*100/700)-100, the 3.57% is, "in this example" the positive difference, and that result I would like to add in P5.

    P5 is equal to the result of "=F6*$M$5+F6" and then I want to add the 3.57%, resulting from the difference between O5 and O6.

    Thanks again daddylonglegss
    I hope this make sense

    Perhaps

    =F6*($M$5+1+IF(O6,ABS(O5/O6-1),0))

    What you write in words and what you express mathematically don't quite agree with each other. I can't quite understand exactly what you are after.

    Are you after (322*.006+322)*725/700=335.5?
    Are you after 322*(.006+25/700)+322=335.4?
    or something else?

    Sorry guys, my English is not so good, I will try to explain what I intend to obtain as result. for that I attached a file with what I'm trying to do.

    I have a forecast for a week, all days I type in, the real order, in the end of the week I got a difference between the forecast and the real orders. the difference can be positive or negative, in any case I want that difference to be added on the next cell on next week, plus the difference between the forecast and the real order from the day before, and so on.

    thanks again
