    Conditional Formatting not working?

    Hi there,

    me again!

Now I'm an expert on conditional formatting( ) I've tried it on a new file however, whilst it shows as set (see attached file), it isn't working!

Anyone any ideas why it would not?

    Cheers.

well without seeing the file and the values its hard to say

The most likely reason is the values are actually text and hence do not meet the criteria and fall in the range.
if the first value is in cell a1, choose formula

try =and(a1>0.5,a1<0.7) as the first condition etc

    Regards

The values look like text, as they automatically have formatted to the left looking at the alignment icon

oldchippy, doesn't say is 'text' format, says 'general'.

When you enter numbers into a cell, even percentages, they default to the left. Text defaults to the right, yours are to the left, but looking at the left icon on your word.doc, it doesn't look depressed???

Well if you can zip the word document, you just do the same thing to zip the excel file.
